Might the answer lie partly in rethinking mediocrity and perhaps even learning to embrace it? Crispin grew up in South Africa and England where he trained as a psychologist and then an actor. Long story short, he is now Professor of Language and Communication at the University of Bern. He previously held professorships at the University of Washington in the USA and completed his PhD at Cardiff University in Wales. As a sociolinguist, Crispin’s core research interest lies in the way people make sense of social difference and inequality in their everyday communication. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ v 585hp Kia EV6 GT: DRAG RACE This is definitely a petrol vs electric drag race you weren’t expecting to see today! We’ve got Mark McCann in his Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and he’s lining up against Mat in a Kia EV6! This is no normal EV6, though, it’s the EV6 GT! As a result, this EV is equipped with two electric motors that can produce an incredible 585hp and 740Nm of torque! It’s pretty heavy though, with its 77kWh battery pack helping it tip the scales at 2,125kg! However, it’s still relatively cheap, coming in at £63,000. As for the Lambo, well it’s a whole lot more expensive, costing around £380,000! Naturally, though, it’s packed full of power, with its 6.5-litre V12 good for 770hp and 720Nm. It’s much lighter than the Kia, too, coming in at 1,525kg. Think it’ll be a walkover for the Lambo? Well, perhaps Mat has a trick up his sleeve! It’s time for a Germany vs Italy head-to-head! We’ve got Mat lining up in the all-new BMW M4 CSL, and he’s going up against Yianni in the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA! Both of these cars are super rare, with only 10 of each being sold in the UK! The question is, which is quickest over the quarter-mile? Starting with the BMW, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six which is good for 550hp and 650Nm of torque. It drives the rear wheels only, and tips the scales at 1,625kg - 100kg less than the standard M4! It’ll set you back a fair bit, though, costing £126,000! Then we have the Alfa. It’s housing a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 under the bonnet which can produce 540hp and 600Nm. It’s lighter than the BMW, at 1,540kg, but it’s also more expensive, coming in at £150,000! Just like the BMW, it also drives the rear wheels only. So the Alfa is down on power, but it’s also lighter! Will that prove decisive?
